[DL] Dodge and Indian Sign

Howdy,

I've just started a new campaign and I have been looking up the answers
to questions after each gaming session so that the entire session isn't
taken up by flipping through books. (That's what happens when you've a
marshal who's only played or run one shots in the past and a posse that
hasn't played before...)

I'm doing all right so far but last night I was stumped by Dodge and
Indian Sign. I read the descriptions in the core books and Ghost
Dancers, but I'm still not really comfortable.

Dodge seems like it's not much use, the only reference I find is in the
skiddatlin' section but it doesn't say HOW to use it, only that you can
use it here. It seems that anyone with a card left could dodge, is that
right? I'm confused on this one...

Indian sign I'm more concerned about WHEN you use it. If two player
meet, and both have the skill then I assume they can communicate,
right? What if both only have 1d4? there's a chance they can't
communicate, right? But do you roll each time they meet, once and use
that same roll for all future encounters, only when there's some
extenuation circumstance like fog, trees, or whatever?

How do you use these two skills?
