From a game standpoint, I completely agree with you. If my character's
throwing a lot of lead in the air, it just _feels_ like he should be more
likely to hit--real world be damned! :-)
I (like nearly every other game designer in the world) have been tinkering
with my own system for a while. Based on that (and translating it to DL
terms), if you wanted to improve chances to hit with auto fire, I'd say give
a +2 bonus to the shootin' roll for each burst. Not enough to guarantee a
multiple hit, but does make it more likely for at least one round to
hit--especially at close ranges.
