Realistic or not, I _am_ inclined to stick with a system that errs in
favor of more bullets hitting. With all the other wackiness in the
Deadlands setting, I see no reason to start getting realistic when those
mad scientists and gunslingers start fillin' the air with lead. :)

As you say, it's a matter of what's fun for the group. Since my wife is
playing a mad scientist, I have an extra incentive to keep her happy by
optimizing her Gatling pistol. 

Hmmmm... that didn't sound quite right somehow...
