Re: [BNW] Hello and Virgin GM needs guidance.

Yes, sure, um, ok. :)

I used the Ripper adventure as the first part for my BNW campaign. I'd say
figure out what you want to do. Do you want a game focusing on one side or
the other? What themes do you want? Are you going with the core setting
as it is in the main book, or adding in the Bargainer/Covenent/etc
twists? Are you focusing on personal freedom, the responsibility of power,
or something else?
Once you figure out those kinds of questions, then you can make a spiel to
the players.

I prefer to let them make up the chars, but I know folks who work the other
way. Depends on how close to the plotline you want the players to stay,
and how much you want to deal with interweaving their ideas into what you
want to do. (That makes it sound like a bad thing -- it isn't. After all,
why do all the work yourself? :) )
>Finally: should I let my better half play as well, or will she end up
>despising me for killing her character ( unintentionally of course )?
I never kill PCs (except in the rarest of circumstances), but I would
discuss the issue with her. I don't get to game much with my husband
because our tastes in games differs a lot and we both are primarily GMs at
heart, so I say if you guys can work it out to keep game and life seperate,
then go for it!
Peace and cheerfulness,
