Well, for starters, as Matt has said numerous times, BNW is NOT a super-hero game. It is a game of HEROISM. It causes us to examine, through alter egos, the little compromises most of us make every day just to get along. The setting basically forces people to examine their beliefs and values in a unique context. This gives BNW a vastly different flavor than most other RPGs. The only other RPG I have found that forces such personal interspection on the part of everyone involved is Unknown Armies.

In order to have an fun experience, BNW forces issues of character development. The more developed the character (especially the background), the more real it will seem, and everyone involved with him/her will have fun. Over the course of one campaign, one of the players got so close to his character that he could automatically answer the question What did you have for breakfast? without THINKING about it. Little things like this add a strong connection to everyone around them.

Know your players. This is important for any game, but in BNW, where there are so many different modes of play and character options, individual player expectation is even more crucial. A player wanting an agressive campaign where he "fights for liberty and the restoration of the USA" will be unhappy if every storyline is a basic espionage sneak. I am not saying that you cant mix different campaign styles, but keeping your players involved in the storyine goes a LONG way to increasing player enjoyment.
