This seems to be a big "hole" in the BNW/DP logic. Yes it would mean each
squad has 5 gadgeteers to maintain 5 armegeddon suits. Granted you don't
need that many (if the suit is destroyed the gadgeteer just spends 8 hours
refurbishing the one in storage and he's back in business). But still if
you multiply at least one squad per major city/region x the number of
cities/regions that's a lot of gadgeteers.

My theory (or what I've decided for my world) is that DP has actually got
an Alpha Gadgeteer working for them. He was incarcerated during the
disappearance and is now carefully watched during his work in exchange for
a monitored normal life.
Given that he's an alpha he would only have to maintain any given suit
say... once a month? A year? So he could "make the rounds" of the US, or
the suits could be shipped to him, fairly easily.
