Well for the short-lived campaign that my friend ran we all got thrown
together by circumstances.
My character was a bouncer that reluctantly worked for the mob as a
bodyguard. He was framed for the murder of a mob middleman and had to go
on the run. He started investigating what had really happened and linked
the murder with a series of violent murders that had occured. He also ran
into:
Stone - a homeless Tough that had had a friend also killed and was looking
into the murders.
Kabuki - a japanese blaster hit-woman (we gave her the name to annoy her)
that was hired to kill the murderer by the mob (she thought it was me,
but I convinced her otherwise)
Mason - a Telekinetic hacker (not a Hacker) who had found some links
between the killings that the cops had missed and was just trying to do
the right thing and help. His connection was the weakest, but it still
worked.

So the Guide used the old "thrown together by circumstance" line. Along
the way we all got into trouble with the cops and DP so we were kind of
forced to work together after that. Not the best environment for breeding
friendships, but it kept us together...
