Re: [BNW] Powers and anti-powers

I've stayed out of this b/c I didn't have any real thoughts to add,
but something Steve said gave me an idea. In keeping with the BNW
feel as well as how things tend to work, plus a little thought to the
results desired, how's this:

The Nemisis can counter powers used against him. This only works on
actual powers [1]. The Nemesis can only counter something if he
knows what's coming. You can work their power much like a
Copycat--must see it in action (only works on powers [1]). Then he
makes a Spirit roll (or Smarts?). An Easy roll allows him to have a
defense/counter to that particular power by GM fiat. A possible
Trick could be for him to be able to choose the counter. In any
case, this only works versus that particular power--or person with
that power package. Thus, you could come up with a counter to a
Goliath's strength, but not anyone else's strength package.

In the end, this isn't as powerful as the comics you are trying to
model, but I think that's ok. I may just use this particular
write-up in my game (and put it on my web site--although probably
under a different name).

1. Unless you want it to be versus all attacks. Is this attack
based only? If not against powers, that means that there's no
defense against regs, but "guns" is a big thing to be counter to.
