That's funny because that's the way I felt about the Delta Prime book.
Everything was covered in such brief detail that I found it quite unhelpful.
Although I must admit that my opinion of the book is GREATLY tainted by the
gadgeteering rules. I was really looking forward to some detailed rules to
help me make rulings for the gadgeteer character in the game I run and it
wasn't very helpful. I think I have been spoiled with the Hell on Earth
"gadgeteering" rules (which are quite detailed and helpful for Guides) and I
was hoping to see something like that in the Delta Prime book and it just
wasn't there.
I do agree with you that there are more "game" pieces in the Delta Prime
book, but the additional information on the world at large in the Defiance
book makes it very helpful for the game I am running. I am not running any
Primer PCs, so I don't really need all that information about the ranking
system, colors of the uniforms, etc., although it is quite interesting I
admit.
I guess it just depends on the kind of game that is being run.
