AH, must have missed that one.

Hmm...I thought I read it somewhere as being suggested in the books, but
that's ok. I think giving folks non-permanent stuff like that would be a
nice reward.

I dunno. I don't want them ending up with tons of them. Maybe only to a
max of 3 or your Spirit?

I don't know about that. The problem is then that it is pretty easy for
someone to go about doing just any old Trick, all the time, and thus makes
Tricks less special. I would still let them buy them with xp, but I want
them to be able to try them in the midst of combat too--and make it a more
detailed choice. I don't think my players would want to assign xp during
play (I'd gm'd most of them for a long time), so allowing an option of "Use
a Trick. You must spend your next 2xp on it" -- not to mention the fact
that a player could have his char in debt very fast.

I'll throw some thought at this idea--it might work (you could say you
could only have one Trick debt at a time), although it won't work at all
for the campaign I'm running. It's going to be an on-again, off-again kind
of thing--a story arc here, a story arc there, so I'm not giving xp at
all--it's going to be fairly subjective. But should I have the opportunity
to do this long term, maybe something like this could work. Hmm...
