[BNW] New Speedster trick?

During my first session, the player playing a Speedster wanted to try to do a "sweep" attack by running by several opponents that were in a row and attacking them with a staff, not with the intention of injuring them but to simply knock them down.  I made up a rule on the fly so that he could make the attempt but it was pretty convoluted so I don't want to try and explain it here.  He rolled three ones on four dice so he fell down during the attempt anyway.

My question is this, how would some of you go about creating a combat trick to simulate this, whether it be related to his Fast Runner power, or simply a generic combat trick.  To me, it seems more suited to be a Speedster specific trick.  Any ideas?
