The Akbash is in many opinions, mine included, an ancestor of the Pyr.  It is indeed very similar.  It can or cannot have the double dew claws and is always all white, except for some very pale tan or lemon in some dogs.  The dog described in the prior post is likely a Pyr or a Pyr cross.
