Re: [pyrnet] Chat: Question, Please
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""Go
to the Murray McMurray Hatchery website.
You can find all sorts of guinea fowl and other birds. It's worth a visit
just to see the varieties of chickens. They mail day old chicks -
the post office will call you to come pick them up! The only problem is
that you must order 30 of them at a time. I got my order this summer and
raised them to about 8 weeks and then gave half to a friend on a farm with
many
more. A word of caution, they are loud, they are feisty, and they
fly""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Oh my! Well, 30 is a bit many for me. I usually buy about 5 or 6 chicks. I
raise them in my laundry room until they're big enough the hawks will leave
them alone. I can barely stand the smell from 5 let alone 30! lol.
I clip their wings when I first put them out but soon they are all flying over
their fence to be with the goats. I think they think they're goats.
I will check with my feed store, you never know.
Thanks
