Re: [pyrnet] Dog attack

When we got our first pyr to guard our sheep we had this happen. She was 5
months at the most and by herself with a small band of sheep. The people
next door put 2 horses in their pasture. Shasta had never seen a horse and
to her this must have been the biggest dog she had ever seen. She gathered
her sheep(who had seen horses so didn't know what the problem was)to the far
end of the pasture and ran up to our gate barking her head of and then would
go and put the sheep back. We went out and tried to calm her down but she
would have none of it so we finally shooed the horses away from the fence
and she then calmed down. She went on to dispatch a white aussie who was
killing sheep, goats, etc when she was 3. Our sheep were never touched. I
would rather have a live pup any day to go on and become and great guard and
friend. I think that this pup will be fine and her owner should continue to
help out when she needs it. Sharon
