At the very least, you would need to clip the nails on their dew
claws--these can't get worn down naturally whatever activity they engage
in. At worst, the nails can curve around and dig into their pads. We too
clip about monthly...or more accurately, have them clipped! I'm the big
baby on that one. And I have to agree with Barb (sorry,
Hermit!)--Paddington would start whimpering when we pulled up outside the
groomers', although he adored the woman who groomed him. We've always been
amazed by the stoicism the females display no matter what. But I do have
to say that our boy came through in his final illness, to the point that
we didn't even know there was anything wrong until the last day or two.
And the folks at the hospital were amazed at how patient and good he was
through all the tests etc. Six months now since he crossed to the Rainbow
Bridge, and such a void in our lives still.
