[pyrnet] Fw: Re: CHAT: map of farms in Pyrenees Mtns.
Forwarded with permission:
It was me who posted about the Pyrenees cheese farm map. It is
in a booklet
called "Le Route du Fromage", which, if you visit the western
Pyrenees is
signposted on the main roads in the region. The road signs say
"Route du
Fromage. Ossau - Iraty" This is the region that produces the
sheep cheese,
& we discovered on our many visits to the Pyrenees that it was
particularly
this area that we saw the working Pyrs. so we put 2 & 2 together
& decided
that getting hold of a map would be a good idea, & managed to
find a leaflet
about it, which had a tear-off slip which we filled in & returned
to the
specified address, but after 2 years we'd received nothing. My
Dad visited
the Pyrenees last month & BINGO! he found a copy of the book,
which included
a map, with all the cheese farms on "Le Route". This is great.
I just
can't wait to go back next year to try it out & see how many of
them have
Pyrs.
To obtain a copy (if you have more luck than we did by
post!)snailmail
address is:
Syndicat de Defense de l'A.O.A.C. Ossau - Iraty,
Baratchartenea Bourg
64120 OSTABAT ASME
FRANCE
Or if your spoken french is up to it then you can try phoning the
number:
(international dialling code for France is + 33) (0)5 59 37 86
61. I've
put brackets round the first zero following the intl. dialling
code because
in the UK you omit this. I'm not sure if this is the case for
everyone.
Good luck!
