Re: [pyrnet] CHAT: The 2nd Day That Will Live In Infamy
While I certainly do understand how people would feel
apprehensive about going into a high rise or on a plane, I will
not let the terrorists dictate my life. I've been in both planes
and high rises, and will certainly go in both again. They will
not win. The whole point of this was to strike terror in our
hearts. They have succeeded. But I will not stay terrorized. I
will overcome the fear. I have always been a believer in that,
when your number is up, it's up. And that it matters not how you
go. Not for that person, anyway. The circumstances surrounding a
death affect the living, not the dead. I am determined that
something positive will come from the horror that occurred
yesterday, at least in my own life. I WILL be a better person for
having experienced it. I will become stronger and more resilient.
I will be less self-centered and more giving. They will not make
me more fearful but more confident. They will not make me
ashamed, but more proud to be an American. I will be more
compassionate and more forgiving. We can all choose how this
affects us. I choose for it to be in a positive way. I have hung
out the flag and I will stop somewhere today and buy both yellow
and black ribbon and tie bows on the huge elm out front. The
yellow for those yet to be rescued, and the black for those who
have lost their lives. I WILL NOT be oppressed by those who wish
to oppress me.
