    I got shoes when I was only 13.  Hand-me-downs, but they were Red
Wings. I had two pairs during college, and when I started working for
newspapers, I  could place an ad free, so I advertised for name brand
brogans, and had a supply for years.  I did get some strange looks
standing
up in creative meetings at Scripps-Howard, wearing high top
boots with pants legs tucked in.  But they made me a bureau chief
anyway.  They are just the thing for all those rock in Maine, and the
soggy winters and robbing those poor maple trees!  Love ya!

  Hermit in the Woods, wearing two pairs of socks and a shoe with a
hole in the sole. And I thought America took care of its own.  Was I
born in Lower Slobovia?
