Hi Pam
Chances of getting a Soleil is non existent, but I am sure you know that
already as Mary and Penny Numbers were the last or almost the last that
continued with that breeding line. Maybe Carrie and some folks out in the
North West still breed occasionally and have the line still. Does anyone
know? It would be interesting to know if the line is being followed by
anyone currently. I bet Kerry Woods knows? What about it Kerry?
When we first got into Pyrs in the early 1970s there were two dominant
strains in North America. Quibbletown and Soleil. Both very popular and
both with huge supporters and defenders. They seemed to go down the line in
the great "size debate" that raged during the 1970s along these lines mostly.
Tip'N Chip had worked with both lines and was very popular as well. All the
rest of us now "Ole timers" were mostly babes (some of us never looked like a
babe, but that is another story <G>) then. I guess I leave out Balibasque
here, but Carolyn never enjoyed the sheer numbers (and camps of support) of
people who followed her dogs like Quibbletown and Soleil.
I am curious to know now these many years later, what you value from the
Soleil that you made that statement? This is not a trick question, but one I
would like to know i.e. what someone fairly new today thinks about the old
lines that gave us all most of our dogs today.
