Carolyn was not the instigator of the sperm banking of Ubu.  And it was not
done for DNA analysis.  It was done with the hope that the dog could be
used for future test breeding.  The sperm banking was instigated by
breeders in the NW.  Ubu lived out here for the better part of a year and
at that time a sperm count/check was done on him.  He was pretty much
"normal" for a dog of his age.  Plans to do some test breeding were
derailed.  I'm quite regretful if that storage was lost.  That was done at
back east.

As regards this conversation, better information will be obtained from the
people directly involved in this than from simply being "told".
