[PyrNet-L] Re: command 'Come'?
The other thing when working on the " come" command is to never be
tempted to trust it too soon.
If you don't use a line, just once, and they refuse the command, your in
deep trouble and it is a major set-back. Also, when you think you are
safe and they really have it down, get a heavy duty fish line, very long,
first, and work with it. It is so light the dog won't know they have it
on, and it gives you something should the command fail. All this
said...it's a Pyr., keep the car keys in your pocket, and the running
shoes on. I will say, the last two accidental escapes mine made, they
did amazingly pull up and come back on the " come". One of those was in
hot pursuit of some dogs that had come in our yard. I always look
outside before I let them out, hubby just opens the door. Bam! They
were off in hot pursuit of the intruders. I turned to go get the car
keys, and by the time I had them and was back out the door, they were all
back with hubby and he was praising them for being so-o-o-o good and
coming back! I was really pleased with them, but I still don't trust
them! :-) Cindy.
