Adrienne, the death of a loved one is one of the most difficult times of our
lives.
In one moment, life will never be the same. My heartfelt sympathy for your
grief.
I too have felt the pain of losing my old cat 'Kitty' after twelve years. I
had hoped she would live to share more years with me, but her life was cut
short by an aggressive neighborhood dog, whose breed I wont mention because of
their already bad rap. I'm sure you feel fortunate to have shared as many
years as you did. Wow! 24 years! that's REALLY old!  Again, my condolances,
