A travois can haul about 70 lbs. We use them a lot for training and
for taking draft tests. Sonny is my novice carter and is still
learning. Find it easier to train them in the travois and he will take
his draft tests in the travois. Someone in our newf club made the
travois for me. In about another month he'll be to the point he can
go into cart and start learning team carting with my newfie. The
cart I have converts very easily to a team and that's my goal to
have them carting together for fun stuff. Actually, my newfie will be
trying for her team carting title in March with a newfie friend.
