Re: [PyrNet-L] Re: Health: Ruptured Cruciate Ligament
Lene,
I would respectully suggest the following solution.
If they come to see the puppy and still want to take him, put an addendum on
the contract that states they must have the puppy evaluated by an orthopedic
specialist within 30 days at your expense. Put that you will reimburse them
the cost once you have received a diagnostic report and findings and any
recommended treatment by the specialist. Also put in writing the
circumstances that resulted in the injury and your vet's evaluation and ask
them to sign (and you sign) addendum, acknowledging that these terms are
agreeable and that facts were disclosed to them. I also think it would be
fair and reasonable, if it is determined that surgery is required within 1 yr
of purchase, and they opt to have an orthopedic specialist do the surgery,
that you would them reimburse them for costs of surgery, not to exceed
purchase price. I would insist that in order for you to reimburse for
surgery, that it must be done by an orthopedic specialist. I feel this is
important factor in success of knee surgeries.
My thoughts on a possible solution to your situation.
