Hi Michaelene, I'm Becky, also from MI, but from the East Lansing area,
welcome to the list. My Cooper who is 2yrs, has had both of his knees luxate
ever since he was about 6mths old. What happens to him is that he'll be
running around and all of a sudden yelp, and lift his leg. I then massage it
and it goes back in to place. He has also had a loud clicking sound (only on
the right). He ended up having surgery 2 weeks ago for what we thought was a
correction for his patella (because of continued lameness), which it partly
was, but, he also had a partially torn cruciate ligament, which was probably
causing most of the lameness and not his luxating patella. His left one
doesn't give him any problems but the right one, clicked. So time will tell if
it was corrected. I was told he may never have any problems with the left
one,and can live with it. I just want him to be pain free. I do have him on
Cartiflex, which is a glucosamine product. We go to get his cast off in a few
hours, which he will be glad, wish us luck!!!!!!

Becky, Cooper, and Zoe too! (my 8mth old pyr pup)
