I feel like the lucky one! I love big dogs, love to brush dogs, and have
admired the Pyr for a long time! Now I have one to love, care for and cuddle!
I just have a lot to learn about her breed.

And I DO have questions:

- at what age does a Pyr mature?
- at 10 months how much should she weigh?
- are there any pronounced health problems that I should be aware of?

I am very concerned because I went to the vet's office that the previous
owner's used and got her health records. It appears that when she was spayed
they had her dew claws removed! And here I thought that she was pet stock
because she may have been born without them! I was shocked and saddened...this
shouldn't have been done. I also found out that she lost weight between the
ages of 6 and 8 months...I have a feeling that they didn't feed her very well.
Noted in the records, as well, was the fact that she had been brought in for a
luxated patella about 3 weeks ago that the owner's said was a result of a walk
they had taken her on...sounds "fishy" to me. Her hips have been prelimed and
look good. I'm happy about that. She is current on all her vaccinations until
May of next year which is the good news!

Anyway, I originally thought that she got the best of care before I brought
her to live with me but am having second thoughts about that now (her care).
But she's with me now...forever...and she will get the best that life has to
offer.

I am especially pleased that she is getting along so well with Tony and
Savannah. They took her into their pack and she plays with them to no end! It
sounds like a herd of elephants when they "butt tuck" all over the house (3
floors)! Music to my ears!

Thank you. All of my dogs are very important members of my family. Have you
had the chance to go visit with them? I need to get a good pic of Willow to
put on my current pet's page...she's just darling!
