Wendy, when Pryncess had fleas on the base of her tail, her coat turned a
pinkish
tan color back there. Also in her 'arm'pits and on her tummy. Now I use
Advantage
religiously as well as brush her very consistantly. The reddish fur is now
back to white, and the fleas are gone. It's very possible that it's a reaction
to fleas, and may take several weeks to months to return to normal. Bathe your
dog, treat him for fleas with Advantage (or equivalent), and brush him twice a
week. See if that makes a difference, it did for me. Also, Selson Blue shampoo
works great to help whiten the coat, and helps with skin problems too!     Ted
