Hi Tracy.  You'll probably get lots of opinions, so I thought I'd chime in
real quick like!
I would definately let the owners of the dog know.  Who knows, the dog
might have a health concern that David accidently hit upon while he was
petting her.  And what if some other child ends up not being so lucky, and
the dog gets him in the eye or something?  That would be terrible.  I think
the owners really need to know.  I don't think there is any good reason not
to let them know.  JMHO
