Re: [PyrNet-L] Adding to my life

Tom,

I there, my name is Alison. Just wanted to respond to some of
the things that you mentioned. About your age, don't worry about
that, I am just turning 25 and single as well. I have just purchased
my first Pyr puppy and have 2 adult cockers at home too. As long as
you have love and respect to give a dog, breeders/rescue organizations
should welcome you. You are the type of person they look for - a good
home for their "baby". I chose to purchase a puppy because I enjoy
"getting to know" the dog from a young age and having my influence
from the start. I am also interested in showing him (Merlin). He is
a wonderful dog and a quick learner. As far as where you chose to get
your dog, that is something you must decide. I really don't have
experience with rescue dogs, but understand that they are so grateful
for the love they receive that they make great pets - some of them
require more time to adjust, but that is to be expected. For a
breeder directory, you may be able to find a publishing from the AKC.
I live in Canada and we have a book out called "Dogs in Canada -
Breeder Directory" with a listing of breeders of all breeds. Hope
this helps you out - you can e-mail me privately if you like and I can
check out my breeder book because sometimes they have listing for the
US.

Alison
