Hmmm...  I think we did have the bread maker going the day she first
started exhibiting the behavior.  First time since she's had free access
to the house, so I suppose it could have gone into knead mode while she
was in there.  Poor baby, it probably scared her to death.

I fed her outside until it got too cold, so that she didn't have to be in
the kitchen.  

Thank you everyone for the suggestions, I'll try the area rugs and find
another spot to feed her till she decides it's okay.
