Hi Evelyn,
Sounds like you have received lots of good advice about Joy's latest
phase. I think all dogs (like kids) go through some phase where they
are trying to show that they are "boss" of the house, yard, city, etc.
With the girls it usually is just before their first season and with the
boys it is right around 2 yrs (that's when all those males turn up in
the shelters). It doesn't necessarily seem to make much difference if
they are spayed or neutered. I would suggest that for the time being Joy
not be allowed in your bed, that you start up with alpha boot camp and
make her "work" for any attention and that you start a program of having
other members of your family (particularly your daughter) do obedience
exercises with Joy and maybe even feed her. How about a program aimed
at making Joy a "family" dog instead of just your dog. She needs to know
that she is the bottom of the pack.
