Re: [PyrNet-L] Adding to my life

Tom, welcome to the list. I am responding, not because of expertise but
because I live in Boston, have two pyrs (our 3rd and 4th respectively),
and would be happy to talk with you about our experiences of taking in
both puppies and adult dogs....and to have you meet our current pair if
that would be helpful. We too had no interest in showing or breeding so
have 2 neutered dogs, a male and a female. There's nothing in what you say
that should make you anything other than a great pyr dad, as long as your
yard is *well* fenced! Pyrs are extraordinarily companionable and as long
as they get enough exercise and interest in their lives, are very laid
back indoors--which would probably include your work place. Ours tolerate
being left alone for extended periods on the odd occasion when it's
necessary, but they do love companionship and we are fortunate to have
flexible schedules that generally accommodate them well. But I have to
admit that our lives do tend to revolve around them! I'm on my way to
teach a class right now, but let me know about any specific questions, and
I'll try to be in touch later.
