Doe anyone have any idea how long this gathering will last? I will be in the
area Sat. morning with my dogs (at a Leo show/picnic), and if we can get
away soon enough, I'd love to give Star the opportunity to meet some other
Pyrs. She hasn't seen another Pyr since she left her original home 3 years
ago. She's a frequent attendee at Leonberger events, but when given the
chance, seems to prefer socializing with dogs colored more like herself!

And if anyone has an hour or two to kill before the 11:00 gathering and
would like to meet a Leonberger, the Leo show/picnic (2nd annual
Mid-Atlantic specialty) is being held in Nottoway Park in Vienna. Judging
starts at 9:30. The park is right off I 66; take the Nutley Street (243)
exit towards Vienna; at the 3rd traffic light, turn left onto Courthouse Rd.
The park is on the left, and there will be signs showing the way to the
shelter area. I'll be the woman with the only Pyr (probably!) in attendance. 

One way or the other, I hope to see some Pyr people on Saturday. And if not,
I hope you have a great walk and picnic.
