Hello everyone,
It is quite possible for one or more littermates to have only one hind
dewclaw on each foot.
We had a litter where one female only had the one dewclaw on each foot and a
litter brother had a double dewclaw on one foot and a single dewclaw on the
other. We do not include these in our breeding program.
I know of a breeder that had a pup with double dewclaws on the front leg as
well as the hind leg, really looked strange. I hope that helps with your
question.
