This means that your mail program is using a
proportional rather than fixed-width font. The best
solution I was able to come up with when it happened
to me was to copy the text of the mail messages and
paste into Notepad or some other editor using a fixed
width font.
I am currently avoiding upgrading to the new Yahoo
mail interface for this very reason (they changed
fonts on me).
Of course a subset of the games have nifty web-based
graphical interfaces...
