You can only move diagonally in quoridor in a jumping situation and only
then if there is a fence behind your opponent when you wish to jump,
otherwise you must jump straight across your opponent.  But no, you are
not allowed to make normal moves (non-jumping) diagonally.

Also, I wish to ask, when you talk about 4-player, are you talking about
everyone starting at each side of the board, or two people starting at
one end and two starting at the other end?  I thought everyone meant that
one person starts at each side of the square and heads toward the other
side.  I think this would make more sense than 2 on each end.  If it is 
2 on each end then yes, it could be done fairly easy.  Please reply, someone
who has the rules.  Thanks.
