The way I look at it is like this:  If you lose an arm, you lose an
arm.  Maybe it's "waiting" for you to die in the hunting grounds or
whatever.  If you replace that arm with a ghost-rock (read: DEMON)
powered device then your HG arm is gone.  You've lost a bit of your
spirit.  You're no longer as human as you once were.  That sorta thing.
 The essence system in Shadowrun explains it better than I can tho.
