That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'm not even sure if the Mute stuff
would be foolproof, as Junkers also like to burn ghost rock for energy (rather
than to release spirits), something that always made me think that the spirit
batteries are full of compressed manitou spirit that gets used up in Junker
devices, not a nice thing for the manitou. Of course, maybe the manitou don't
care about dealing with someone who commonly harms manitou.
I should also add that my understanding of Junkers is based largely on what
I've read here over the years and the Iron Oasis book, as my local store has
never been able to get in a copy of The Junkman Cometh and by the time I could
have ordered it online, I no longer had the money (and was using my own system
for the game anyway). So I'm thinking in more general terms than in specific
mechanics. The information is definitely helpful, tho.

"As I look back, I see that it had been a mistake to send the letter. If you look far enough back, you will find that everything starts at some minor point. Something small becomes something very big. Something simple becomes complex. A brief moment of time becomes the focus of a tragedy. The letter was the minor point - something of no consequence that became the start of something of... importance." - Paul Thorgrimson, 'River of Blood, Path to Ruin,' October 2001
