My first instinct would be to say no. Anything that freely gets rid of
hindrances is too
powerful. My second instiinct says the same thing. : } If I did let a player
buy it I'd make
'em pay at least 15 pts for it (maybe 20) even though that isn't very doable
in the system.
make 'em pay through the nose for it or don't allow it at all.

It is arguable that some dementia's may be the result of genetic mutation
(ones that
cause chemical imbalances) , but other's are the result of external causes.
Anyhow, I
wouldn't let the Grail cure mutations either way, including 'mental'
mutations. I just think
it's too much of a cheat. Got a mutation? Okay, just drink from the Grail.

Personally, I like to screw with the characters of players who try to twist
rules/mechanics
like that.

I have a question of my own for you all, tho. I have a Harrowed Junker in the
posse
whose player has just found out about what Mutes do. If I allow his character
to somehow
gain the Mute equipment (either finding a prototype set somehow on Earth or
else after
the group does the Unity thing), in what way should I restrict his Junker
abilities? I'm
partially tempted to find a way to make the two incompatible so he loses all
Junker
abilities, but I may allow some of the lesser Junker abilities to still be
used.

I'm just wondering what sort of restrictions should be in place given the
nature of the
Mute's abilities and the equipment that makes it run.

"As I look back, I see that it had been a mistake to send the letter. If you look far enough back, you will find that everything starts at some minor point. Something small becomes something very big. Something simple becomes complex. A brief moment of time becomes the focus of a tragedy. The letter was the minor point - something of no consequence that became the start of something of... importance." - Paul Thorgrimson, 'River of Blood, Path to Ruin,' October 2001
