[HOE] The Librarian's Almanac for August 16th
YUMA VILLAGE, ARIZONA – Boxcar Joshua, a scout of some repute, has quite a
tale to spin concerning a recent trip past the old Palo Alto Nuclear
Facility. It seems that Joshua was trailblazing for a trading caravan out of
Glenwood, New Mexico around the Phoenix Metroplex Ghost Storm. While
scouting out the power plant’s fences for a shelter, the Indian discovered a
force of unusual automatons circling the property. Upon closer scrutiny, the
automatons had been haphazardly modified and were conducting some form of
siege. The ‘bots would circle the property, fire a few rounds into the
windows of outlying buildings, then continue around the perimeter. During
three hours of surveillance, Joshua said the automatons refused to get any
closer than six hundred feet of the site.
BROWNSVILLE REFUGE, TEXAS – Laredo Marks, a gunslinger and mercenary of low
repute is reporting his discovery of the remains of a caravan out on Mustang
Island. According to the gunman, there were seven trucks that had been
completely ransacked. There was no sign of the guards or the caravan master.
T. Emmett Raker, the owner of the caravan is offering a large reward for the
return of those responsible for its destruction and/or whoever can tell him
how the caravan got on an island with no bridges.

NEAR PURGATORY - GREAT MAZE, CALIFORNIA - The young wandering
tale-teller known as "The Papergirl" reports finding the destroyed
remains of an apparent long range recon Combine patrol in an old rest
area 25 miles south of Lion's Roar. Surprising information found on the
scene seemed to indicate the patrol belonged to a larger force, and that
further Combine activity could be brewing up in the vicinity of Lake
Havasu, Arizona. Why the patrol was so far west, or what the Combine
could be doing near Lake Havasu is open to conjecture. While this
information is naturally suspect and as yet unverified, travelers
passing through the Northwestern Arizona area should remain vigilant to
the possibility that it is correct.
