If I recall correctly, the resulting acceleration of the person firing the 
weapon would be equal to (The acceleration of the round fired)X (The mass of 
the bullet divided by (The mass of the person and the weapon and everything 
else they are wearing, added together)).

Now, figuring out the acceleration of a bullet may be too much detail. You 
could probably get by with using the speed of the bullet to find a 'speed' for 
the firer. Not accurate, as they would accelerate, not just move along at a 
constant speed, but useful enough for an RPG session.

Especially in a fight, where you want to keep things moving.
