RE: [HOE] The Net in the Hunting Grounds [shane]

Perhaps it's "Gate" dependent.

Okay, time in the Hunting Grounds flows at the same rate as outside; thus
there are a past and a future Hunting Grounds. It's when a person passes
through a gate that they are actually shunted back through time.

For example, Walt and Steve-Dave are on Banshee. They enter the Unity and
pass through the gate to the Hunting Grounds there. They enter the "future"
Hunting Grounds, they travel through the "future" Hunting Grounds, and they
come upon the Devil's Tower gate to the "real world." When they pass
through said gate, they are transported back in time to 1878. Fearing for
their fanboy lives, they leap back into the gate, but are now in the 1878
version of the Hunting Grounds. They travel through the "old" Hunting
Grounds until they come back to the Banshee gate, and passing through, they
are instantly transported back to the future.

Clear as mud, right?

"You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Ghost Rock, son. Nothing else in the
world smells like that. I love the smell of ghost rock in the morning. You
know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over
I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' Yank body. The
smell, you know that sulphurous smell, the whole hill. Smelled like...
victory. Someday this war's gonna end..."
