You are correct, adult alligators and crocodiles can hold their breath
for an hour or better.

LOL, oops, I guess I better rethink that.  Maybe, I'll
change it to hold their breath for the same duration. 
I'm no expert (as noted above) but as I seem to recall
they do or can spend a considerable time underwater.
