Although this is certainly true, a further reason is to encourage new
players. Most people I talk too who are considering roleplaying are
intimidated by the number of games and the differences between them. With
D20, they can learn a single gaming system and apply that knowledge to a lot
of genres. I know of 15 people personally who were not willing to learn
multiple systems who are now much more willing to try different games since
they only had to learn one system. I personally think it is great the
Deadlands D20 is available, since now more people will get to experience the
great story and background.
