Re: [HOE] Why is Blastin' a Knowledge aptitude?

Hi there,

This is my first post here but I have played Deadlands and HOE since the day
it hit the game store shelf. So I would just like to say that I look forward
to some interesting conversations and hopefully no flames. My Swat Tactical
Armor is on back order and all i have left is my IBS.

The main reason I am responding to this thread is that I am playing a psyker
right now in our campaign.

First, I would like to say that you did a very admirable job dividing up
the power and you put some thought into it and it looks good. I think the
reason why it was just knowledge was all the years in the academies that
psykers had to spend learning there powers. Now if learning = knowledge then
that might be the line of thought. I also think that HOE tried to simplify
power use than say a shaman in weird west.

they are descendants of hucksters but it also says from the eastern martial
arts as well. I would be more willing to keep it simple and maybe make
Blasting a spirit Skill. Not only do I think it fits more with the theme of
the what they where shooting for with the psyker but spirit is used for the
amount of damage inflicted, i.e. brainblast. There is the skill meditation
which is also under spirit. Psykers would have lots of guts doing what they
do, at least I would think so.Right now a psyker has to worry about a good
knowledge, good vigor for strain, and a good spirit for damage, at least if
your playing a sykokinetic.

I would just keep it simple and change it to Spirit.

In addition, we just leave the power buying the way it is, psykers unless
greenies should have there blasting at 5. They are veterans of a long psykic
war. Its mandatory in the book to have at least a 3. 2 more is not that big
of deal. Gunslingers are sure to have a 5 in shooting, doomsayers....you get
where Im going with that.

If i where to do it different I would try it your way though I like how it
planned out. Good Job.
