Well...  The Faithful pet, after taking awhile to find out that it is, 
indeed, the old owner, would most likely keep with him/her.

In fact, a dog might be even able to tell if the Manitou is in charge or not 
(That is, if the "myth" that dogs can sense evil is true...).  :-)

Now, it might take awhile for the dog to recognise it's owner as being it's 
owner, not just another walking jerky snack...  :-)

As for an Infiltrator Cyborg, this may confuse the dog for a bit...  See, 
the system uses various chemicals and "perfumes" to mask the stench of 
death, and, well, you won't smell like your old self any longer.  Again, 
after taking awhile to recognise Bubba as Bubba, well...
