This is all for Banshee Sykers-
Well, what does the soldier edge entail:
Skills - these are pretty much all linked to the "package" you pick, some
of these apply but quite a few probably don't (combat engineer, pilot,
others I can't remember).
Equipment - between the flight from banshee and the flight off of the
Unity most sykers probably didn't get to take a whole lot with them (I
imagine they weren't walking around in their Infantry Battle Armor and
Land Warrior system when the accident on the Unity happened). So while not
an integral part of the Soldier edge, gear is a major consideration and
really doesn't apply to them.
Rank - sykers didn't follow the normal chain of command and were not
organized into traditional units so Rank doesn't really apply in the
normal manner. Couple that with most Banshee syker's general HATE of
authority figures and this doesn't really apply either.
So it seems like the Soldier edge is a poor fit to a Banshee syker, you
should probably just take VotFW instead...
