[HOE] Post apocalyptic, modern day

So, what do you guys think of role-playing an adventure of your
post-apocalyptic characters in a 'civilized/ world.

    How!?

Well, My big idea is that you begin the adventure as follows.

Gunfight in a mine shaft as mindbiters slither down, Gunfire, mind blasts,
throw in lines like "If they catch us alive, Carson Gulch is Doomed!". Have
a PC take a massive wound, make 'em give a cheesy "shoot me, don't let 'em
get me", and of course the PC's, who never leave a man behind, carry him
along,

    And....

    Then they hear, "CUT!!!"

"CUT! Ok, Edit, but I think that's a Print!"

The lights go up, and they're on a tv set. makup people, who nine yards.
If they shoot their guns, they fire blanks. The mind biters stand up and
get out of their costumes. Doomie powers don't work, and people respond to
'em by actor's name.

For those of you who HAVE seen the Twilight zone episode, you know how
this would be. With the twist that though people treat them as these actors
on the set of "Mad Mark IV, Nuclear Boogaloo", they still have the knowhow of
their previous life. Well, sorta. Maybe their magic isn't there, and maybe
their judo is just bad enough to make them doubt.
But as they are unable to get food, clothes, or buy anything "They may
take cash, credit, or debit, but no one deals in Bullets". Play up the
luxuries, the awkwardnesses, have fun with it!
And the consultant on the set, John Pestivich, Atty at law, seems to know
just a hair too much. He says leading things like

"You know, we film this movie to spec, and you get to leave this set
behind, go home, take warm showers every day and not have to deal with this
gunk ever again".

"Cmon, don't be difficult. Keeping your brain stuck in that wasteland
helps no one. Do the movie, and you're out."

"Ok, let's say your story IS true, and this setting isn't just a movie,
which is nonsense, but lets say it's is true. What does it matter? you're
out. Finish the script, and no more radiation sickness for you".

And, HOW does the movie end? Well, in the script, the heroes end up
trapped, wounded, and cornered in a small room at the bottom of the mine.
And, after each gives a smarmy dialogue (Write it up for them, actual
'scripts' would be cool!), they decide, that it would be better that the
knowledge of the access passwords to Carson Gulch should die with them
because the beasties would use it to kill 'good' people. And they each put
their last bullets into themselves.

And they are given an odd choice. Come the final shoot (During the
meantime, bring back old NPC's, have a good old time!), they have the choice,
go through with it, and then walk off the set, maybe even to wives and kids
(This would be a great time to speculate as to wives and kids of your PC's!).

If they break the script, and they may figure this out, it's back to the
wastes, no hot showers, groupies, or adoring starlets. Only radwasted
harshness.

Sound good? I want to have someone run it and see how it goes (you guys
had luck with the 'so who's driving the speedboat?'. This one is SOOO much
better!)
