[HOE] Portal in the sky...

Hey partners.

 A friend of mine (who stupidly -refuses- to become part of the listserver) 
is running an HoE / DL crossover, and is trying to inject some ideas from his 
favorite film, 'Stargate', into it. We were chatting about this, and the 
subject of the portal to Faraway came up. Being limited in our resources, 
we're wondering if there's anything out there that says anything about the 
actual travel through Hellstrom's little marvel, i.e.- What travel times were 
like to Faraway, and was there actual physical space traversed, or was it (as 
we suspect) a gate through a disused section of the hunting ground? Also, is 
there anywhere that gives info on how the thing actually worked? Somehow it 
sounds something like the 'Gateway' hex from DL, but on a much much larger 
scale. Any and all info y'all have on this piece o' tech and how it ran would 
be much appreciated...
