Re: [HOE] Books To Acquire

My all-time, top five HoE Supplements are:

1. The Junkman Cometh: Very comprehensive supplement; has lots of info
on the Combine and others, and many other books are based on the rules
here.
2. Road Warriors: Vehicle combat always comes up somewhere, and there's
various setting info, almost as much as is in Wasted West.
3. Last Crusaders: The Templars have a background that's pretty integral
to the overall HoE setting, so this is a handy lil' thing to have.
4. Cyborgs: When the Marshal needs some heavy, badass bad guys, here's
how to build 'em. Also, this, Road Warriors and Junkman make a neat
little trinity of books that are very neatly compatible with each other.
5. Waste Warriors: Everyone who lived through the War was changed by it,
especially the soldiers. This book has tons of background hooks for PCs
and NPCs alike, and historical info out the wazoo. Plus, lots of fun new
toys to kill things with.

If your choice between Iron Oasis and Shattered Coast is purely for which
you'd like to run a campaign in, I'd go with Shattered Coast. The
setting is much more post-apocalyptic, since Junkyard still has things
like electricity and TV. Even still, the things presented in Iron Oasis
have much more widespread effect on the world. Junkyard can be pivotal
in campaigns that never even happen near SLC. So if you're not running
your game in the Maze, get Iron Oasis, since it's a good book to have in
most cases.
